 Faith Formation in which students encounter Jesus through the dynamic teaching of scriptures in curricula designed to meet them where they are on their faith walk. Youth explore the whole story of God through the contextual nature of scripture emphasizing God’s continued relevance,  power, and love.

Fun creates relationships and fellowship of whole community.  Small groups foster both topical scriptural depth and a sharing of deep authentic life in community. Worship brings together relationships and depth into a communal praise of the ways God is active in our individual lives, small groups, youth group, church, and community.

Food and hanging-out time leads to guided topical discussion for a mid-week spiritual and emotional recharge.

Monthly Ministries

Senior High Early Morning Breakfast

1st Fridays, 5:30-6:45 AM
9th-12th graders meet at a local restaurant to fellowship, support, care, and pray with and for one another, providing time to “get away,” reconnect, and receive love in community.

Quarterly Ministries

Youth Council

Quarterly Sundays from 3:00-4:45 PM, J.O.Y. Classroom
Youth Council meetings are offered to all students as an opportunity to develop leadership skills and experience the value of teamwork as they work together to accomplish goals and objectives.  Meetings are comprised of any students who wish to participate constructively, as well as the Director of Youth Ministry, one youth and one student leader as discerned and nominated by the youth, and a number of adults not to exceed one per three students present.

Youth Worker Gathering & Training

Time/Dates: TBA, local restaurants
This gathering  provide training and support to those who are regularly engaged with youth ministries and for those who may desire to learn more about youth ministry and want to serve in many vital ways.

Coming Soon!  Revolving Small Groups

Time/Dates: TBA, host homes
Short-term, topical small groups help youth target and address pressing issues related to their lives and see them through a lens of faith.  Youth will be led by adult youth workers trained to teach wellness in topics such as Stress & Emotions, Academic Pressures and Preparing for the Future, Relationships & Sexuality, and Understanding Your Parents.  All groups will be grounded in the Holy Scriptures and the Christian Faith.

Fall Kick-Off 

Saturday & Sunday Prior to the 1st Week of School
This fun & informational gathering is designed to celebrate the upcoming year in youth ministry. It incorporates parents, families, youth workers, and students in learning about all ministry opportunities for the upcoming year. It sets the tone for the year and helps folks begin to prepare their hearts and minds for the new ministry year.

ReFresh Fall Retreat 

late September/early October, Camp Ozone
This retreat is a time to get away from the routine of life and take a time for rest, recreation, fun, and worship.  It is a  time for both youth and adult youth workers to engage in refocusing on our relationships with God and with others.  Estimated Cost:  $75/Person

Fall Festival, "Enchanted Forest"

last Saturday in October, Upstairs FLCYouth Space
This festival is a time our church invites people within our church and the community to share in food, fun, and fellowship. The youth traditionally engage in a dramatic character-themed “walk-through” that is fun for all families and kids in the church and our community. It is planned for and carried out by youth leadership and adult youth workers. It is always a “crowd-favorite.”

Christmas Parade/Hot Chocolate/Decorating Party

First Sunday in December,  2:00 PM - ?
(Begin in Fellowship Hall Kitchen)
While attending the Lebanon City Christmas parade with their families, youth and youth workers serve hot chocolate to those in our church and in our community. Following the parade, they are invited to listen to Christmas songs, share delicious baked goodies & finger foods, and decorate the youth spaces with a variety of delightfull and/or tacky Christmas decorations.

Progressive Dinner

Second Sunday in December,  4:00-8:00 PM,  host homes
Youth and adult youth workers travel amongst host homes to engage in a 3-course meal, with one meal being served at each of the homes. At the final stop, students share desserts and a rousing "White Elephant" gift exchange.  



Warmth in Winter Youth Conference 

Time/Dates TBA, Opryland Hotel
The Tennessee Conference of the UMC organizes this event every year for United Methodist youth all over middle Tennessee. It includes opportunities for connection with other churches through social times, workshops geared toward youth and youth issues, and large worship gatherings.
Estimated Cost: $125-$300/Person

Senior Sunday/Senior Banquet

Sunday, May 6th 5:00-7:30 PM, Fellowship Hall
This event is a church-wide sponsored event that honors our graduating seniors and their families. It provides a space for care and for encouragement of families and those graduating with a delicious meal and festive décor, along with blessing and sending words. All preparation has historically been led by and initiated by those who are Juniors in high school and their parents/families.

Youth Summer Mission Trip

Sunday, June 24th-Friday, June 29th
Location: TBA
This trip is grounded in offering compassion and justice through our service as a part of God’s redeeming work in the world, to bring the kingdom here on earth as it is in Heaven. The trip usually includes travel and engages youth to develop and nurture missional hearts and lives.
Estimated Cost: $90-$550/Person

Middle School VBS 

Typically the 2nd Week in July, Sunday-Thursday evenings
This ministry opportunity is a time for rising 7th and 8th graders to participate in a transitional moment in their faith walks as part of FUMC Lebanon. It engages both youth within our church and youth of the community as a way of connecting upcoming youth with various forms of fun and worship that they may experience while being a part of the youth group.
Estimated Cost: $5-$20/Person

Summer Sizzler Conference Retreat

Typically the 3rd Weekend in July,Beersheba Springs, TN
This is a sponsored event by the Tennessee Conference UMC. It serves as retreat space to connect with youth from other churches all over middle Tennessee through worship, small groups, and lots of fun free time. It also provides a time for youth who might be discerning gifts and calls for leadership and those who might feel led to serve in youth leadership at the conference level.
