Alicia Stephens Scholarship Applications Are Open for 2026-2027

All members of Lebanon FUMC who are rising college students or high school seniors are invited to apply for this scholarship to help fund your coming academic year needs! To apply, complete the form below, or submit a printed application to Pastor Steve in the church office.  Deadline to apply is April 15.

Scholarship Recipient Requirements

  • Must be a member of Lebanon First United Methodist Church
  • Must have been accepted or currently enrolled in a College or University (Undergraduate 2 or 4 yr, Graduate, Professional, Seminary, etc)
  • Must maintain a 2.5 (out of 4) grade point average each semester while attending (attach a copy of last semester grades to application)
  • Demonstrate good Christian moral

 

Criteria to be used by the committee for awarding scholarship(s)

  • Need
  • Desire
  • Character
  • Academics
  • Achievements

 

Handling of funds

  • The Lebanon FUMC Business Administrator will issue scholarship award funds to the recipients per semester. Satisfactory grades must be presented to the administrator before receiving the second semester’s check.
  • The quantity and value of scholarship(s) awarded is at the discretion of the committee based on funds available.

About the Author

Lucinda S. Sutton

Lucinda S. Sutton has been a member at Lebanon FUMC since 2011. Despite her history as a self-published author, professional editor, longtime teacher/volunteer, and unabashed fangirl and blogger, many in the community still know her far better as Trinity, Micayla, and Jaden's Mom (she is mostly okay with this).  

Lucinda came to us from the United Methodist Publishing House where she had a hand in the creation, development, and editorial work for Cokesbury's 2017-2020 VBS curricula, as well as other pieces for Abingdon Press.  While her professional background also includes work in the fields of marketing, organizational management, operations, and even food service, her calling is now and has always been to serve for the betterment of church life and church work.  For all of this, she is profoundly grateful.
