Pure Joy
I will never forget the extreme excitement and pure joy on my oldest brother’s face as he came barreling into my room one Christmas morning and started jumping on my bed shouting, “Get up! Get up! It’s time to open presents and celebrate Christmas!” This was so out of character for my mild mannered brother who doesn’t often show much emotion.
I imagine this is how God greats us every day when we wake up as He is so excited to share each new day with us with ultimate joy! Pure joy is how we feel when we greet the Christ child on Christmas morning. Pure joy is what He wants us to greet each other with as we share His good news with everyone we meet. We don’t have to jump up and down shouting, but we can offer comfort or even a simple smile to share God’s joy for our lives with others. Each new day is a true blessing God gives us. Let us all strive to live each day in ways pleasing to God and remember the beautiful joy-filled face of the new born baby Jesus born on that blessed Christmas Day!
