Gov. Lee's Executive Order #74, and What It Means for Us

    Greetings Church!

Last night, Governor Bill Lee issued Executive order 74, which in essence extended Executive Order 70 (issued on December 20, 2020). Executive order 70, among other things, limited indoor gatherings to fewer than 10 people. The new order extends this restriction until February 27, 2021.

As I have said before, I am fully aware that churches are exempt from this order, and I agree that the government cannot tell a church it cannot meet. However, as leaders in the Lebanon community, we want to do things that help our community go in the right direction. From every metric I have available, it appears Executive Order 70 has had a positive impact in Wilson County. The 10-day average of positive cases in our county has been at its lowest since early fall. Hospitalizations are down, too, alleviating some pressure on our health care system. I am hopeful another month of restraint along with increased vaccinations will help us finally turn the corner on this pandemic.

Thus, we will continue our suspension of on-site activities except worship through 2/27.  Worship will continue with both on-site and online options at 8:30 and 11. I want to remind everyone that it is because of our strong protocols and 100% compliance that we are still able to have people on campus for worship.

If you have needs, or if I or the staff of your church can do anything to help you (including helping you to navigate the vaccine system, getting groceries, etc.), then we are here to serve you; just give us a call.

    Blessings,
    Ryan
